MANAGERIE STATEMENT

As you visit KELLY MILLER CIRCUS and see it's animals, we hope that you will take a special moment to appreciate the beauty and majesty of these members of out circus family. We here at KELLY MILLER believe strongly in the ethical and humane treatment of all animals, especially OUR OWN. There are eight people employed here strictly for their care, comfort and oversight. The circus industry receives a lot of negative comments from animal rights groups such as PETA and HSUS, who have raised literally millions of tax free dollars, almost none of which has gone toward any programs that care for the animals for which they solicit these funds to supposedly help! We are in constant contact with other animal professionals such as Dr. Schmitt of the Springfield, Missouri Zoo, and Dr. Ted Friend, head of the animal husbandry Department at Texas A & M University in Texas. We are also members of the Elephant Management Association (EMA), USDA Exhibitors Assoc., and The Endangered Ark Foundation as well as being regulated by the USDI (United States Dept. of Interior, and the USDA (United States Dept. of Agriculture) We maintain these and other contacts so that we may keep abreast of the newest and best trends for better care and knowledge of our animals. Working together with everyone who really cares about these wonderful creatures will assure not only their well being, but also that they will be with us for generations to come. It is a fact: "Animals that have no interaction with people are more likely to become extinct!"
